Viola H. Searle, 88, of Idaho Falls, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and great-grandmother passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at home.

Viola was born November 29, 1929, in Darby, Wyoming to Robert Melvin Hill and Mary Stuart. She was the third of eight children. Viola was the big sister and compassionate to all her siblings. Viola attended schools in Idaho and Utah completing a business course and worked for Cook Real Estate for a few years.

Viola married Boyd LeRoy Searle on February 1, 1950, in the Idaho Falls Temple and were blessed with four children. They lived in Idaho Falls all of their married life.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions, some of which were Primary chorister, Primary President, Stake Primary President, Ward Relief Society President (twice), Stake Relief Society Secretary and numerous other callings. One of her favorite callings was the nursery leader in the ward. She loved and devoted all her life to service. She taught by example and her life was spent in serving others.

Viola had an adventurous love for life. She loved to quilt, sew, can, carpentry, and was always busy learning and doing. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and had many great memories of activities and travels. She loved to make scrapbooks of her adventures, family reunions, and holidays.  She also made sure that each of her grandchildren had a scrapbook of their family history. Viola also made hand quilted quilts for each grandchild for their weddings.

She is survived by their children: Valinda Searle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Delynn (Stephanie) Searle of Meridian, Idaho; Ladenea (Blair) Jenkins of Sandy, Utah; Brian (Cammie) Searle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; her parents; granddaughter; sister, Verda; and brothers: Leonard and Harold.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 9 ^th Ward, 395 2 ^nd Street. The family will receive friends and family from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
