Violet Adeline LaMeres Shipp, 90, of Idaho Falls, died December 29, 2005, at Mallory House in Idaho Falls. She had been under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

She was born at home May 26, 1915, in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota, to Jay Ellsworth LaMeres and Inez Adeline Knapp LaMeres. She grew up and attended school in Sentinel Butte. She attended high school in Ovid, Colorado.

On May 26, 1954, she married Blendon William "Jack" Shipp in Idaho Falls. He passed away Feb. 24, 1991. She lived most of her life in Idaho Falls and St. George. She was the lunch counter manager at Woolworth's in Idaho Falls for twenty-two years. In 1970, she moved to St. George where she managed the lunch counter at Southgate Golf Course. She moved back to Idaho Falls 1 ½ years ago to be closer to family.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a visiting teacher and an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple.

She was a member and past Noble Grand of Lilly Rebekah Lodge #33 and the past President of BPOE Does.

She enjoyed crafts, bowling, fishing, golfing, and cooking. She loved life, her family, and the Lord.

She is survived by the following: daughter, Shirley Hill of Soldatna, Alaska step-daughter, Darlene Fullmer of Idaho Falls 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren 5 step grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; 6 step great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, sons: Gordon and Melvin Fugitt, and daughters, Alberta and Linda Arlerta Fugitt.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
