Obituary
Vivian was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Reginald Gorder December 1, 1920 – January 9, 1989; brother, Christian Carl Sansness Gorder May 14, 1923 – September 16, 1984; sister, Helen Ida Pauline (Gorder) Caton May 14, 1924 – August 17, 2002; brother, Clarence Victor Andrew Gorder (Vic) July 20, 1934-November 27, 2002; son, Charles Victor McIsaac July 25, 1949 – March 19, 2003; and husbands: Lyle Delbert Willson McIsaac and Samuel W Hunt.
The family was living in Montana at the time of the death of Clarence Gorder, Viv's father, in 1937. At the age of 10, she returned to live with relatives in Minnesota. Later she returned to live with her mother, Mabel, in Glasgow, Montana, where Vivian attended school, worked at the movie theater, and developed a passion for dancing. Upon graduating in 1943 from the high school, Viv moved to California. It was in Atwater, California, that she met Lyle Delbert Willson McIsaac. They married November 25, 1947 and had four boys: Edward Eugene McIsaac - August 17, 1948; Charles Victor McIsaac – July 25, 1949; David Lewis McIsaac – January 1, 1952; and Richard Leroy McIsaac – May 13, 1955.
The McIsaac army grew with Edward giving his Mom 9 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren; Charles gave her 2 beautiful Grandchildren; David: 3 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren, and Richard rewarded his mother with 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Step Grandchildren. Only those who have been blessed with a long life live to become grandparents, and the continuation of the family line is a sign of God's Blessing. Vivian had always been reserved with her faith. In 1938, she attended Vacation Church School of the First Lutheran Church of Glasgow, Mt.; this summer profoundly shaped her faith as a believer in Jesus.
To honor Vivian, is to acknowledge her ready smile and sweet sense of humor. She loved her boys and all of the children in her linage. It is the family's request that you carry on that loving spirit. A family and friends gathering to celebrate Vivian's life will be held at Twin Bridges Park at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016.
