Obituary

Willis Dale Moser, 83, of Ammon, Idaho, and formerly of Pendleton, Oregon, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls of cancer.

He was born August 19, 1925, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Albert William Moser and Leona Claire Bowman Moser. He grew up in Pendleton, Pilot Rock and Milton Freewater, Oregon. He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1944.

He served in the Navy on a mine sweeper in the Asiatic Pacific during World War II. He received three medals during his naval service. Following the war, he attended watchmaker's school in Los Angeles, California.

On August 9, 1957, he married Betty Barbara Reese Morris in Milton Freewater, Oregon. He worked at Donnelly's Jewelery Store in Pendleton. In 1961, he purchased the Pioneer Motel which he owned and managed for 12 years. In 1976, he purchased a mobile home park in Albany, Oregon and in 1999, they moved to Ammon, Idaho.

Dale was a member of the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge and the Golden Key Inns.

He loved to travel in his motor home with friends and family. He supported his daughter in her activities in band and drum and bugle corp. Dale was a devoted son, husband and father who worked hard to guarantee the welfare of his family and was always ready to help them with their needs.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Moser of Ammon; a daughter, Kelli (Mark) Andrews of Ammon; a step-son, M. Paul (Becky) Morris of Richland, Washington; a sister, Carol Elliott of Pilot Rock, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Janeal Andrews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 3000 Central Ave., in Ammon, with Bishop Jim Summers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the Ammon Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
