Wanda Lou Furgeson, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Parkwood Meadows. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Wanda was born on November 16, 1945, to Sephus Vermont and Pheobe Minerva West Justesen in Delta, Utah. She grew up in Delta, Ririe, Idaho, and Blackfoot, Idaho. She attended high school in both Ririe and Blackfoot.

In June 1962, she married James "Ronald" Bates. To this union, six children were born four girls: Kathy, Cozzett, Linda, and Rona; and 2 boys: Gary and Scott. They were later divorced. On August 17, 1977, she married Alan Kent Ferguson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Alan passed away on November 20, 2006.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wanda worked for All West Communications where she answered phones for businesses. She enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking. However, her most enjoyable moments were spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her Daughters: Kathy (Cory) Cox of Idaho Falls, ID, Cozzett (Ronn) Allen of Carmen, ID, Linda (Brian) Scott of Cheyenne, WY, and Rona (Mark) Williams of Idaho Falls, ID; her son, Gary Bates of Cheyenne, WY; her daughter-in-law, Marcy Bates of Idaho Falls, ID; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Sephus and Pheobe Justesen; her husband, Alan Ferguson; her son, Scott Bates; loving friend, Steve Safford; 7 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2020, and one hour prior to services Saturday both at the mortuary. Interment will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
