Wayne Winger Simpson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully after a courageous journey with declining health on July 28, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on September 1, 1956, to Lora Jean and Orval Simpson.

Wayne lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, faith, and service. He sought to follow the example of Jesus Christ in the way he loved and cared for others. His relationship with his Heavenly Father was deeply important to him, and his faith was reflected in the compassion, humility, and willingness to serve that he showed throughout his life.

He married the love of his life, Deanna Redford, on December 27, 1977. Together they built a family and shared many years filled with love, laughter, adventures, and cherished memories. Deanna preceded him in death on January 6, 2019. Wayne later married Lois Cutler, with whom he shared many years of loving companionship and cherished memories.

Wayne was a devoted father and took great joy in his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Simpson; his children and their spouses: Josh and Elizabeth Simpson, Scott and Shannen Simpson, Barbara Simpson, Geri Carbonello, Jessica Simpson, and Zach Simpson.

He was a proud grandfather to Taylor and Isabel, Ethan, Katelyn, Emma, Xavier, Noah, Kade, Samantha, Genesis, Dante, Enzo, and Ryker. His grandchildren brought him tremendous happiness, and he treasured the time he spent with them and the memories they created together.

Wayne was a talented computer software architect who had a genuine passion for computers and enjoyed working with them throughout his career and in his personal life. He was naturally curious, thoughtful, and always willing to learn and help others.

Outside of work, Wayne loved adventure and the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, motorbiking, boating, and snow skiing. He also loved attending the theatre and experiencing the arts. Above all, however, Wayne cherished spending time with his family. Whether enjoying an outdoor adventure, gathering together, or simply sharing time with his children and grandchildren, those moments were among the greatest joys of his life.

Wayne will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, steadfast faith, and Christlike example. He had a way of making people feel cared for and valued, and his influence reached far beyond what he may have realized. His family and friends will deeply miss his presence, his kindness, his wisdom, and the love he so freely gave.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Hillside Ward Chapel, 7118 S> Ledgerock Dr., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and family from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and from 10:00-11:15 a.m., Wednesday, prior to the services at the church.
