Obituary

Wesley LaRue Clark, 86, of Idaho Falls, died Aug. 2, 2005, at Life Care Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Newdale, Idaho, the son of Elmer Dean and Myrtle Anita Molyneaux Clark. He grew up in St. Anthony, Buhl, Preston, and Benson, Idaho. He graduated from St. Anthony High School, and then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in New England where he met his first wife, Ruth. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then attended Ricks College for two years.

He married Ruth Tanner June 6, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died May 8, 1979. He married Gloria Jean Ferrell Willmore Aug. 17, 1979.

He worked two years at North American Aviation Company where he helped build the B-25 bombers that bombed Japan. He owned Clark's Appliance & Furniture in St. Anthony with his father and brother, Edland. For 16 years, he worked as deputy assessor for Bonneville County. In the early days of FM broadcasting, he was part owner of radio station KSIH in Pocatello.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He and his wife, Gloria, served a mission for the church in Ghana, West Africa and also Seattle. He enjoyed spending winters in California and southern Utah and has traveled through more than 40 states. He made a friend of every person he met, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria, Idaho Falls; a daughter, Judy (Kenneth) Daines, Gulfport, Mississippi a daughter, Rebecca (Reid) Mattingly, West Jordan, Utah a brother, Edland Clark, St. Anthony, ID step-daughter, Patricia Accardi, Warren, Rhode Island step-daughter, Cheryl (Rand) Douglass, Idaho Falls, ID step-son, Kendall (Lori) Willmore, Idaho Falls, ID 6 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren 10 step-grandchildren 5 step-great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his first wife, four sisters: Myrdean Fullmer, Elina Hathaway, Lela Ethington, and Donna Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug.6, 2005, at the LDS Thirteenth Ward Chapel, 955 Memorial Drive, in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Friday evening at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and also an hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Annis-Little Butte Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veteran's Team.
