After a few years, Bill started his next career path of driving trucks. He drove for Vicker Freight, Brownings and ABF Freightlines, until he semi-retired September 1, 1988. He fully retired after the death of his wife, Norma on July 25, 1991. Bill was an active member of the LDS church, serving in the high priests group, cub scout leader, blazer scout leader and in the Primary where he taught the 11 year olds.
