William Holm "Bill" Gray, 77 of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Lincoln Court Assisted Living in Idaho Falls, from complications of dementia.

Bill was born on September 6, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to William Egan and Dorothy Holm Gray. He grew up in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and lived in Sao Paolo, Brazil. He graduated from St. Thomas Military Academy in 1957, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from University of Oklahoma.

In June 1967, he married Nancy Ann Marchinski, at St. Paul's Cathedral in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bill and Nancy had one son, David. They relocated to the Bay area, then in 1976, they moved to Idaho Falls.

Bill worked for Control Data Corporation, EG & G, and Scientech.

He was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Idaho Falls.

Bill volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed teaching computer science courses for Eastern Idaho Technical College and Idaho State University. His hobbies included flying, reading, history, playing golf and tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gray, of Idaho Falls; his son, David (Sue) Gray; and his two grandsons: Henry James Gray and Archer William Gray, all of Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
