Obituary

William "Bill" Homer Haas Sr., 77, of Swan Valley, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 23, 2015. He was born October 17, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of William C. Haas and Aleita Tippy Haas. He grew up and attended schools in Dayton. In 1957, he graduated from Fairmont High School. He served in the United States Air Force. On December 20, 1963, he married Julie Ramirez in San Bernardino, California. As a young man, he moved from Dayton to California where he worked in title searches. He worked in car sales for a short time before he started driving cement mixers with a cement company. In 1974, he moved to Swan Valley and worked as a cement truck driver for Monroc Cement. He worked at Swan Valley Motors for several years then for Sunkiss before starting his own wrecker service and mechanic work, known as B & J Towing. He retired to dedicate his time to be with his wife and carry on their family business, Julie's Shuttle Service. Bill was an EMT and volunteer firefighter in Swan Valley for several years. He was an amateur radio operator and CB operator under the handle "Dirty Harry". He was a loving, giving husband, a caring and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and father-in-law who will be greatly missed by all. Bill is survived by his wife, Julie Haas of Swan Valley, Idaho; a son, William H. Haas Jr. of Idaho Falls; daughters: Denise R. Haas and Andrea (Jade) Haas Siepert both of Idaho Falls; sisters: Linda Steven of San Diego, California and Janet (David) Achs of Melbourne Beach, Florida; 4 grandchildren: Danielle and Kiley Haas of Idaho Falls; Kayloni Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona; Keeonna Robinson of Bullhead City, Arizona and a great-granddaughter, KaeLyn Haas of Idaho Falls; a niece, Adena (Brad) Clark of Yukon, Oklahoma and 3 grand dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aleita and William "Bill" Haas. Private family services were held under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
