Obituary

William "Bill" Kepler, 88 of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Bill was born October 11, 1925 in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Lydia Smothers and Art Kepler. When he was a year old, the family moved to Caldwell, Idaho, where he was raised and attended schools. He joined the U.S. Navy at the beginning of WW II. He served throughout the war and was in Japan at the signing of the truce. Returning home, he worked for the Corp of Engineers. While working for the Corp of Engineers, Bill met his future wife, Betty J. Bay. They were married November 13, 1949, in Caldwell. They moved from Caldwell to Idaho Falls in 1952 where Bill managed Ferrell's Men's Store. In 1957, he started his own Real Estate Business, Kepler Realty, and worked in the business right up through this year. He loved his race horses, raising cattle and part time farming and sharing life with any and everyone around him. He is survived by his wife, Betty Kepler; a son, Victor (Lisa) Kepler; daughters: Joni Kepler and Jan (Dean) Wilkie; a daughter-in-law, Alicia Kepler; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a sister, Marge Christensen. He was preceded in death by a son, Vaughn Kepler, and a sister, Marian Stevenson.
