William A. "Bill" Ravenscraft, 82, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 22, 2026, under the loving care of Nuclear Care Partners and Brio Hospice.

Bill was born on July 28, 1943, in Boulder, Colorado, to William and Lois Ravenscraft. After spending a short time in California, the family moved to Idaho Falls in 1949. He grew up in Idaho Falls, attended local schools, and worked at LeBaron's Restaurant before proudly enlisting in the United States Navy. He served his country during the Vietnam War.

Bill was married to the love of his life, Charlene Ravenscraft, for more than 60 years. Together, they had four children. He is survived by his son, Brian Ravenscraft, and his daughter, Lois "Brooke" Ravenscraft; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two beloved children, Darrin Ravenscraft and Elizabeth Harrington.

Bill worked at LeBaron's Restaurant before delivering for Wonder Bread throughout the area. He later spent many years as a long-haul truck driver for Max Kerr & Sons Lumber before eventually finding his home at the Idaho National Laboratory, where he retired as a site bus driver. Along the way, he made many lifelong friends and collected countless stories.

Retirement suited Bill well. He and Charlene spent many happy years doing what they loved most—camping and enjoying the outdoors with family and close friends. He loved the little slice of heaven in Swan Valley.

Bill will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of the open road, and his superior level of grouchy old-man-ness. He had a way of leaving people with stories to tell and memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved him.

In true Bill fashion, there will be no funeral or services. While that may not have been exactly what Charlene had in mind, it is what he wanted.

The family would like to extend heartfelt Thank you to the loving and caring staff of Nuclear Care Partners and Brio Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care of the "grouchy old man" for so many years.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that memorial donations be made to a local favorite charity.
