William Carlton Reimer, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed from this world on August 7, 2018.
Born July 19, 1952, he was the youngest son of George Allen Reimer and Shirley Mae Reimer of Lynwood, California. William became a resident of Idaho in 1994, moving to Salmon with his father. Later, he resided in Pocatello then Idaho Falls.
He is survived by his beloved son, Evan of Prescott, Arizona; and older brother, Thomas of Idaho Falls.
William enlisted in the Unites States Marine Corp on June 22, 1971, following his brother, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. During his tenure as a Marine, William had inclusive dates of service in Vietnam. After being Honorably discharged, he attended Golden West Community College in Westminster, California and obtained an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
He was employed in various capacities as a Security Specialist to include service on the Naval Base NAS Los Alamitos, CA. After moving to Idaho in 1994, William worked in both construction and mining in and around Salmon. Later, he served as a cameraman for the NBC affiliate in Pocatello. Tasked with a broad range of assignments, he filmed and conducted interviews with such notables as former United States Senator, Larry Craig and country singer artist Garth Brooks.
Sometime later, William was awarded a service connected disability from the Veterans Administration due to circumstances while serving in Vietnam.
William's passing has been our loss; particularly for his son Evan whom he cared for deeply. Semper Fidelis Marine; from your best friend Terry Mott and brother Thomas, U.S.M.C. We shall all serve together again with our family and friends by Heaven's Gate under the light of our lord Jesus Christ.
