William "Bill" Maynard Yarbrough, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at MorningStar Assisted Living.
Bill was born on August 28, 1931, in Moreland, Georgia, to Julius Yarbrough and Lora White Yarbrough. He grew up in Sandy Springs and Barnesville, Georgia. He received a bachelor's degree from Emory University. He went on to earn a master's degree in Nuclear Physics.
He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years.
On January 26, 1995, he married Sandra Jeanne Lord in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He had previously been married to Alice Zipper who passed away in 1976.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and an RV Club. He enjoyed rock hounding, which is the hunting of minerals, rocks, crystals, and gemstones. He is a lifetime member of the Idaho Falls Gem and Mineral Society. He loved to spend time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Lord of Idaho Falls; his sons: Mathew Yarbrough of Columbia, South Carolina, and Mark Yarbrough of Leesburg, Florida; his half-sister, Mary Hagerman of Roswell, Georgia; 3 grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Yarbrough.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am, October 27, 2023, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the US Air Force Honor Guard.
