Gayle Ashment, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Brio Healthcare Services.

She was born January 15, 1941, in Idaho Falls, to Dorthy L. McGlochlin Bartlett and John W. Bartlett Jr. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1959.

She married Robert Michael Townsley in Livingston, Montana, in 1959. They were later divorced. She married Alfred Rivera in 1978. They were later divorced. In 1987, she married Norris Ashment. Norris passed away in 2010.

She was a school bus driver for Idaho Falls District 91 for 8 years and was an INL bus driver for 22 years until she retired in 2007.

She was a member of the Idaho Falls Gem & Mineral Society and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Gayle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had a passion for her rocks and gem collecting. She was a loyal friend and confident to everyone she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Norris Ashment; parents, John W. Bartlett Jr. and Dorothy L. Bartlett; and her brother, Frosty Bartlett.
