Winnifred Christina Bedford was born August 24, 1920, in Neusalza-Spremberg, Germany to Reinhart and Auguste Zimmer Weber. She was the youngest of nine children. She was a resident of Lincoln Court Retirement and under the care of One Source Hospice. She received her Associate degree in Business in Neusalza-Spremberg. She worked for the German Government in communications and later in 1947 for the U.S. Army headquarters in Heidelberg as a translator and bookkeeper. She married Hans Loesch on November 23, 1942. He died in Gallarate, Italy in 1944. She married Jack E. Bedford on December 20, 1952, in Heidelberg, Germany. They came to the U.S. in 1953 and resided in Grand Junction, Colorado. In 1956, she became a US Citizen. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1962, and she worked for Ebasco at INEL as a secretary until she retired in 1968. She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #85 and a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved her flowers in the yard and was an expert knitter and shared her talent with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Bedford. Surviving relatives are Ingrid (DeLoy) Ray; 4 grandchildren: Tiffini (Mark) Sutton, Jason Ray, Teri (Marc) Charendoff and Stacie Ray; 4 great-grandchildren: Chloe Charendoff, Broderick Sutton, Brian Ray and Gabrielle Sutton. At the request of the deceased, a viewing will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 2-3:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, followed by Graveside services at Fielding Cemetery.
