Yvonne Lovina Freeman Rose, 80, of Idaho Falls, died January 1, 2009, at the home of her daughter.  She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

She was born April 21, 1928, in Silver Bow, Montana, to David Reese and Ora Marshall Perkins Freeman.  She grew up in Lima, Montana, and graduated from LimaHigh School.  She attended nursing school in Idaho Falls.

On November 4, 1946, she married Woodrow Blaine Rose in Dillon, Montana.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on October 13, 1962.

She lived in Rexburg, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Park City, and Monticello, Utah, and Idaho Falls.  She worked at the Salt Lake Clinic as a receptionist.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving with her husband in the Butte Montana Stake Mission.

She enjoyed running marathons, snow skiing, water skiing, coaching tennis, reading, and river rafting.  She bicycled the volcano in Maui.  She was a seamstress and made her own wardrobe.  She wrote poetry and was published in the Montana Historical Magazine.

She was always active in the different communities that she lived in.  She was involved in getting the library built in Rose Park, Utah, the Jordan River clean up and worked on getting the land fill to stop burning trash in Salt Lake City.

Mom has left a legacy to her family of embracing life and all of its adventures, challenges and opportunities with humor, courage and strength.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Jim) Saunders of Idaho Falls; daughter, Susan (Tom) Galloway of Salt Lake City; son, James F. (Carol) Rose of Salt Lake City; daughter, Ann(Dennis) Shimizu of Salt Lake City; daughter, Jane (Stephan) Cain of Alaska; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Rose and a daughter, Elizabeth Rose.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. January 7, 2009, at the LDS 14th Ward Chapel, 651 Gladstone with Bishop Blaine Eborn officiating.  The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte cemetery.
